On October 8, Anthropic showed two new features in Claude. Both are in beta, but anyone who has ever put together a Friday report by hand will get the idea right away.
A dashboard that updates itself
Claude Dashboards connects to your data: a database, spreadsheets, a CRM like Salesforce. You ask in plain words, Claude builds the dashboard and keeps it current as the data changes. Tap any number to see where it came from, or ask Claude to explain it. Available on paid plans.
Your report as a video
Claude Motion turns a report into a short animated video: your text, charts and images in motion. Anthropic's example: a quarterly report becomes a 30-second explainer for an all-hands. You download it as an MP4. It doesn't generate footage or made-up people; it's code that animates your own charts. For now it's on Team and Enterprise plans only.
Docs, Slides and Design also left beta and are now on every plan, including Free.
What it means for a small business
A report stops being a document nobody reads. You can open it and ask questions, or watch it in half a minute. Mila does something similar in Telegram: every week she pulls together where your business stands — what's done, what's in progress, what's waiting for your decision. And we already publish short videos made from our own material in our channels every day.
One small step for today: pick one number you count by hand every week. That's where an automatic report begins.
